SIMMMONS
FLEXI-SKI

The
Simmons Flexi-Skis greatly improve the turning performance of a Long/Wide Track
snowmobile while pulling a load. They are currently available for the Ski Doo
Skandics, Polaris LX machines, and Yamaha VK540. $424 plus
shipping
Our version of the Flexi Ski comes
standard with 4" of carbide for improved performance in icy conditions.
Models without carbides are also available but may take slightly longer
to ship. NOTE: the use of carbides is strongly
discouraged in grooming environments where the ground surface beneath
the snow must be undamaged, i.e.: golf courses, asphalt, etc.
If
you are having trouble turning your long/wide track snow machine while
pulling a load, you need a pair of these. The Simmons Flexi-Ski was
originally designed as an after market performance ski for high-speed
snowmobile touring. BUT, we found that they greatly improve turning at
grooming speeds while pulling a load.
How
much do they improve turning? Well, so far every customer that has tried
them has told us that they can’t believe how well they work (many of
these customers have called us on their own right after getting in from
their first trial run with the Flexi-Skis). Basically, you can turn your
machine while pulling a load about as well with the Flexi-Skis as you
can with the stock skis and no load.
They
work because the ski is an inverted “U” shape, with a carbide runner
on each side. When you turn the skis, the inside edge is pushed down
into the snow and you turn. Other advantages include a much less
noticeable track from the Flexi-Ski. This means that if you have to run
your snow machine without the Trail Tenderizer, the mark left by the
skis is much easier to ski over than the “V” shaped track left by
the stock ski. Also, the Flexi-Ski fits perfectly over the profile of a
2x4 on its side. This is great if you want to make a track for your
trailer, or even a set of tracks through your storage building.
